Google TV is the interface layer on top of Android TV. The underlying operating system is identical — both run Android TV OS. "App is not compatible with your device": This happens on older Android TV devices (Android 8 or below). Solution: sideload the APK. Download the TiviMate APK from a trusted source, transfer it via USB or Send Files to TV, and install using a file manager. Enable "Install from unknown sources" in Settings → Security before installing.
Channels load but do not play: Usually a codec issue. In TiviMate, go to Settings → Playback → Decoder and switch between Hardware and Software decoding. Software decoding uses more CPU but plays more formats. If neither works, try IPTV Smarters as a fallback to isolate whether the issue is the player or the stream.
EPG not updating: Force stop the app, clear its cache (Settings → Apps → TiviMate → Clear Cache), and reopen. If that fails, remove and re-add your playlist in the app.
